Fun with the Dogs

So, there have been days when we wondered why on earth we got 2 dogs. They can be big handfuls. I did put on Facebook one day how I wish someone would take them. Then regretted posting that. Well, they are getting better. We are giving them a little more freedom in the house. And they are loving on the girls.

The other day, Jadyn wanted to push them around in her shopping cart. The dogs LOVED it. Zack did not want to get out. It was so cute. Here are 2 photos.

I can't believe it's March

Sorry it's been a while since my last update. Life has been so busy I have not had time to sit and write. Plus, I'm on Facebook now and am addicted. That takes up too much time for me. :-) So I was sitting here and thought I should log on and update this blog.

Abby & Jadyn are growing like weeds. They are changing from little toddlers to little girls. The expressions and attitudes we are seeing are sometimes funny, and scary. Abby is copying a lot of Tiffani's actions, which are not always the best to copy. Meaning, Abby is acting like a teenager. And I don't like it. It's sad enough that we have a teenage daughter, I'm not ready for 2. :-)

Tiffani is growing up way too fast. She'll be 14 next month. Starting High School in a few months. She can't wait. She is tired of middle school. She is active at church and I love that. She has been keeping busy with a lot.

Abby & Jadyn have been going to many birthday parties lately. It should make me happy that they have so many friends. :-)

The weather is quickly changing here. It's getting hot. I don't like it when it's really hot out. I guess I shouldn't live in FL then. LOL The girls jumped in the pool last night. It said it was 80, but to me it was still too cold. They had fun. We bought solar heat a few weeks ago. So we're hoping very soon the water will be perfect for all of us to swim. The girls tried to get the dogs in the pool. They were curious, but would not get in. So Tiff picked them up. They were not happy about that at all.

Zack & Zoe turned 1 a few weeks ago. I have noticed a little change in them. They are not as hyper as they were. But they are still chewing. I put duct tape around the laundry door and they are trying to chew that off. Zack ate one of Abby's new church shoes the other day. That frustrated me. If they can stop chewing, then we'll be okay.

I've been talking with our friend Sarah a lot lately. She found out that the orphanage needs at least 5 more months to get Billy's paperwork finished. I had hoped it would be sooner. 5 more months will make it about a year since they started it. So we're wondering if that is how long it takes to get a file complete. After they are finished, then they send it to the CCAA and then we wait for them to approve his file. It could still be a while before we know if we can adopt him.

Our homestudy is complete and waiting for final approval. Then we move on to the next step of fingerprints. Our dossier will be complete soon. The 3rd time was much easier than the first 2. :-) I guess we're pro's now. LOL

Here are 3 photos. Zack & Zoe were showing off one night. The other is of Jadyn.

Until next time......

Our "Wonderful" Dogs

We've had our puppies about 10 months now. They turn 1 year old on Feb 28th. Bill has had enough! They are just always getting into trouble. When we were gone for vacation, they ate our laundry room door. Today, they ate a hole in the screen outside. They have also eaten a hole in the laundry room wall. When will this end? We were told Lhasa's are lap dogs. Well not our dogs. At least not yet. Yes, they do want the affection, and they do jump in our laps. But that lasts about 30 seconds and they jump down and run. They are very hyper and full of energy.

We are ready for the puppy stage to be complete. We are ready for the chewing to be done. Our last dog, Belle was a good dog. Will these ever be as good? :-)

Our attempt at Grooming

Well, we thought we'd try to save some money on grooming the dogs. It seems that they need grooming about ever 6 weeks. Well, that's $70 each time we groom them. So we thought we'd give it a try. We bought a good grooming kit and last night we gave Zack a hair cut.

His hair grows faster than Zoe. His hair is different than Zoe's. His is more thick and curly. So Bill called him over. It took about an hour. He got a few breaks in there to run around etc. Zack did great! He's a really good dog. He just sat there. At one point it looked like he was going to sleep.

He looks much better than before. We can see his face. It's a lot smaller than we thought. :-)

Next will be Zoe. But we'll wait a bit for her. She does not need it as bad as Zack.

I have to say, Zack is much softer now too. I thought the groomers put some sort of powder on him when we would pick him up. I don't think they do. I think because his hair is short, it's much softer.

Puppies

Well, the puppies are definitely comfortable here with us. So comfortable that they have started chewing up things. A corner of our kitchen island is chewed up and now a corner of our entertainment center is chewed on. Bill is not happy about that. So they do not get as much freedom around the house as they used to. If we are not out there to watch them then they have to stay in their playpen. Zack LOVES to "hide" from Zoe under the entertainment center. I have photos to show you of that below. He also hides in the kennel. It's funny.
I felt bad for them squeezing into one kennel at night so I let them sleep in their playpen one night so they could stretch out. Well when we woke up it was quiet so I got concerned. It was quiet because they already relieved themselves all over the tile in the playpen. So back in the kennel they went. We did go and buy a 2nd one so now they each sleep in their own. Zack was not happy about that the first night. But he is better now. Zoe loves her own space.
It's hard to believe they have been with us for almost 2 months now. They have grown a lot. They are teething and I can tell their teeth/gums are hurting. I'll be happy when we are finished with the puppy stage. We have a ways to go. They just turned 4 months on June 28th.
