Here are 3 videos from today. Be sure to check Bills blog for more.

Abby's 5th Birthday Party

Today we celebrated Abby's 5th birthday. We're a week early. But that's okay. Next weekend we'll be visiting Mickey Mouse so we thought we would celebrate with family today.

The theme was High School Musical. Abby LOVES these movies.

Her family came over around 10 this morning. We planned to go swimming. Well mother nature had other plans. It was raining. So we decided to eat first. The food was good. Everyone had a good time. We then let Abby open her gifts. The theme was included in the gifts. She received a lot of HSM gifts. She was thrilled. Then the sun came out. The dad's and kids changed into their bathing suits quickly. They were able to swim for about an hour. They had a lot of fun. Then, we heard thunder. So everyone got out and dried off. It was then time for cake. Yumo! Abby made her own cake. She even wrote her name on it and the number 5. Then she covered it up with confetti. :-)

Our family left around 3. We were tired. It rained more. Abby got a new Webkin so she & Bill played that on the computer for a bit. I took a quick nap. We ate an early dinner and then watched the new Little Mermaid movie Uncle Daniel gave Abby. It is really cute.

The house is quiet now. We are tired. But we had a great day. I can't believe Abby will be turning 5 on Friday.

I have 2 sets of slideshows. One is of the party. I have them all captioned. The other is from Bills waterproof camera. He took some really great photos under water.

Be sure to go to his blog He hopefully put up some cute videos. If I can figure out how to do videos, I'll add some to a new post.

Happy Birthday To ME!

Another year older. The years go by faster. I'm starting to feel old. Even though I know I'm not. But society makes me feel old.

Thankfully my family is not making me feel old. I've had a good day so far. I've received great emails & phone calls. It's been nice.

This morning Bill got up to go to a meeting at church and he asked if I was going to ride the bike today (I've been attempting to get healthy) or if we were going to go out. I told him I NEEDED to ride the bike. Well, at 7:30 the girls were all ready for school and I thought "I'm not going to ride today, it's my birthday!" So I took my shower & took the girls to school.

When Bill got home, I announced that I wanted to go to Chick-Fil-A for breakfast. So we headed out.

While we were driving, I told Bill how sad I was. Not because it was my birthday, but because of Billy. I'm sad that we probably will not be adopting him. (We found out some info this week that I will try to post about later. But if what we heard is true then he might not be adoptable). I'm sad that he will be growing up in the orphanage. So many thoughts went through my mind.

So while we were eating and Bill was trying to tell me that Billy will be okay, I told him "can you just do something, can we PLEASE buy some things for Billy? I want to send him some gifts." So we headed to the store. We had fun. We bought 2 t-shirts, a coloring book, a watch & some sunglasses. We will also put in some markers & maybe some gum. Doing this made me very happy. Now Bill needs to write him a letter and hopefully his friend Sarah will translate it so Billy can read it.

Tonight I have open house for the middle school. Not really the way I hoped to spend my birthday, but I need to go. I like to meet the teachers & know what Tiff is expected to do this year. Bill is going to cook my favorite dinner, Chicken Strips. He makes the best Chicken Strips.

So I'm another year older. Hopefully another year wiser. It's been a good day. I pray that this next year is just as happy as the past years.

Preschool Update

Well Jadyn is just so excited that she has a best friend. She asked if I could bring the camera to take a photo of her & her new best friend. So we did. Malea does not come until around 8:15. So we went to Abby's class and took some photos. Well, Abby is a little jealous that Jadyn has a new friend. So of course, Abby has announced that she too has a new friend. She tells me "it's the girl who has the same Dora shoes as me." So we found her and took a photo. Her name is Karinna. Then we left to find Jadyn. Malea showed up and was not in the best of moods. She did not want her photo taken. Jadyn was sad. I promised Jadyn that I would bring my camera another day. I did get some photos of Jadyn in center time though.

While we were waiting, I was able to talk with Ms. Tara, Jadyn's teacher. She told me that she is very bright. She said that she has an activity that she gives the kids and she knows that most of them can do it. Then she has a more advanced activity that she gave to Jadyn. She nailed it! They can tell that she wants to learn and that she will do great! They told me that Malea is the same way. So I think that is why they have bonded so well.

Bill on the other hand was keeping his eye on Abby while we were in centers. And he started cracking up. He said that Abby was going around to each of the kids and putting her hand on their backs and saying good morning.

Oh, and you have to check out the 1st photo below. We started laughing so hard. Check out Abby's expression. She said the boy kept trying to hold her hand.

The girls LOVE school. I'm so happy that they love it.

Here is a slide show from this morning. Enjoy!

Jadyn is ready to read & write!

Last night, the girls had out paper & crayons. Jadyn announced to us to come and look at her door. She had taped something there she wanted us to see. She wrote out "Maintain your protection." I did not know what on earth this meant. And how she wrote this. Then she showed me. She copied it from an advertisement we received in the mail. We took a photo so you could see. We were shocked and amazed!

Jadyn has made a friend!

I'm so excited. Jadyn has made her own friend. She is so excited too. Yesterday she announced to everyone she saw that she had a new friend and her name is Malea. Jadyn had her big, beautiful smile when she would announce this. Then today, she told me how they found a frog on the playground. Malea picked it up. Jadyn touched it. Malea named it "Bing Bing". The teacher saw it. Then Bing Bing jumped down and played hide & seek with the girls. Jadyn was giggling the whole time she told me this story. I could not help but smile.

Then today she ran out of the school and said "that girl gave me a hug! that girl gave me a hug & a kiss! That's so funny...." I said "Who gave you a hug?" She said "Malea". I told her that she liked her. Jadyn liked that. But I think Jadyn thought it was weird. She was all smiles & giggled again.

She told Abby that she made a friend. Abby asked her name. Jadyn said "I've already said! It's Malea". Abby said "I don't know her". Jadyn was happy about that.

Today we were running late. Well Abby was running late. So Jadyn & I left without her. Bill waited back for Abby. On our walk, it was great to just have Jadyn to talk with. She talked and talked about her new friend. Then when we got up to the street, we saw that Abby was coming. I waited. Jadyn pulled me and said "Come on mom! We have to get to school!"

Thinking about this morning, I started wondering what Jadyn would be like if Jadyn was an only child. I believe that she would not be as shy as she is. I think that she is following in Abby's shadow. When you get Jadyn alone, she's a different girl. She's full of life. When you get Abby & Jadyn together, she backs off and is more quiet. It makes me feel so good to see that Jadyn is getting out of her shell and that she has made her own friend. That she did not need her sister to make a friend for her. And it makes me feel really good knowing that Jadyn loves school. I was worried how she would be in a class without Abby. Thankfully, she's doing just fine.

Jadyn's class goes to centers at 8 AM. They were already in centers when we got there. Jadyn ran to class, put her things down, signed her name and then headed to centers. We walked Abby to class and then came out and watched Jadyn. It was great to see her with the other kids. She knew what to do and where to go. It was super sweet.
Until next time,
Debbie

First day a success...No School Tomorrow

Well the first day of school was a success. Jadyn talked the whole way home about it. Abby said she did nothing. Jadyn did not have to see Abby today, which is good for her. Jadyn said that there is a girl named Kadyn in her class. But she did not meet her. She just "knows" her. Then she said they went outside and there was a ball that she could throw. She also said she ate all of her lunch. And she got to write her name with a marker.
Abby said she did nothing. Then she said she went to centers. I asked what is in centers? She said "stuff". Abby did not finish her lunch. she said the teacher said "Look at the time, lunch is over". Abby never finishes her lunch at school. Oh, about 5 hrs after she was home, Abby said her teachers says "Hocus Pocus Now Lets Focus". Cute!
Tiffs bus was over 30 min late coming home. That is typical for the 1st day of school. She said her day was boring. They were in homeroom (which for Tiff is PE) for 5 hrs. She said she thinks her teachers are okay. I hope they are. She said that the boy she likes is not in her classes. He has PE the same time as her, but with a different teacher. She has friends in a few of her classes, but not all of them.
Tiff got a text message as soon as the bus got home. I can't believe that. Miss Popular!
Now the 2nd day of school has been canceled. We have a storm brewing and I think it will just bring rain and maybe some wind. I hope that school will be back in session on Wed.
Here are a few photos of Tiff getting off of the bus today.

An answer to a question

The First Day Of School

The day is finally here. The first day of school. Of course, Abby & Jadyn did not wake up today (neither did the dogs). The girls were excited about school. Everyone got ready and we did our annual photo shoot. Then we walked and met Isabella and took more photos. Then off to school.
We dropped Abby off first. She emptied her backpack and then had to sign in. Oh, in case you are wondering by the photos, At open house the other day, a bank was there handing out backpacks. Well Abby wanted to use that one today. :-) Anyway, she signed in and I took a few photos and we said our goodbyes.
Then we walked to Jadyn's class. She emptied her bag and I took photos. She found a book and we said our goodbyes. She did fine.
As we were walking outside we saw we were walking past Abby's class. Bill went to the window and Abby saw us and ran to the window waving.
Then we got home, Tiff finished getting ready and we drove to the middle school. Traffic was thick. But we made it through fine. Tiff got out and said her goodbyes.
Bill & I went to my favorite place for breakfast, Chick-Fil-A. Yum! Then we did a few errands and came home. Now we have to leave in a few minutes to get Abby & Jadyn. I can't wait to hear how their first day went.
Enjoy the slide show below. I will try to journal later tonight with how the girls liked school.

Preschool Open House

Today was the day the girls could meet their new teachers. We have been trying to prepare Jade for this. We knew the girls would be in different classes this year. We knew Jade would have a problem with Abby not being there. We have been praying that she would do okay.
So this morning they got ready for school. Of course they thought they were going all day (all day to them is till noon). I took Abby to her class and Bill took Jade.
I will tell you first of the time in Abby's class.
We walked in and her new teachers Ms. Nadia & Ms. Diane greeted her. Abby walked in like she owned the class. She found her cubby and put her new backpack (a bank was there giving all the kids backpacks) in. Then she got to make a ladybug craft. Then off to do some activities. She found out her friend Victoria is in her class. She was excited.
After everyone arrived, they had circle time. They sang their ABC song from last year and then Ms. Nadia read a story. Then Ms. Nadia went over how their day will be. The kids got antsy and so it was time to leave.
Abby & I walked over to see how Jade's class was going. I peeked in and saw Bill holding Jade, a teacher rubbing her back and tears going down Jade's face. She wanted Abby. My fears were coming true.
We walked in and they finally calmed Jade down. She saw Abby and was happy. They told Jade that when she misses Abby then they will do their best to let her say hello.
Jade made her "person" and then we took a few photos with her teachers. By this time she was all smiles. I'm really sad because none of Jade's friends from last year are in her class. There is one boy from last year but Jade did not know him too well. I pray that she will make her own friends this year. I pray that she will love school like she did last year.
As we were walking home, I told Bill about Abby's class and he said "Okay right now I can tell you that Abby is in the "artsy" class and Jade is in the "academic" class. He said Ms. Tara had the kids reading a sentence, going over days of the week etc. I think the girls are in the best class for themselves. Jade needs the structure. Abby needs the nurturing.
So now Monday starts a whole new school year. I pray it will be a good one. The girls will go 5 mornings a week this year (8-12). They are so excited.
Here is a slideshow of the morning. I will have more photos of the first day of school on Monday.

PS The girls got their hair cut yesterday. Can you see how cute their hair is now?

A Disney Day

Today we woke up early and headed out to Disney for the day. We decided to go to Magic Kingdom. We got in the park around 9:30. We took the train to Frontier Land. Bill & Tiff went on Thunder Mountain. While we waited, we saw 2 ladies asking kids to pan for gold. So the girls went. They had fun. They got their gold pieces (gold Mickey confetti) and a certificate. It was fun. When they were finished, we waited a few minutes and then Bill & Tiff were off the ride.
Then Jade decided she wanted to do Splash Mountain. So she, Bill & Tiff went. Jade LOVED it. She had a blast. Abby & I waited and there was a little play area for "little kids" as Abby put it. But she played on it anyways. I was taking photos of her and she said "Mom, enough pictures. I don't want you to run out of batteries". So funny!
After that, we ate lunch. We were hungry. When we were finishing up, a lady came over to Bill and whispered something. Then she said "Mickey Mouse wanted me to give these cookies to you." The girls were so excited!
After lunch was Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, It's A Small World, The Carousel (me & Abby), The Tea Cups (me & Abby), Goofy's roller coaster (Bill, Tiff & Jade) and then finally the train back to main street.
We had a fun day at the Magic Kingdom. It was HOT and a little crowded.
Enjoy the photos!

Brides in the Making

With yesterday being our anniversary, I told the girls that it was the day daddy & I got married. Of course, they thought we were getting married yesterday. Abby even said 'Is Tiffani going to babysit us so you can get married?" It was funny!
So with the wedding/anniversary talk, I asked them if they wanted to try on my wedding dress. They said yes.
So I got it out, dusted it off (well dusted the protective cover off) and got it out. Jadyn went first. "It itches me mom! It's too big" were the comments I got. But she suffered through it. LOL
Then it was Abby's turn. Immediately I got "It's so itchy mom! I want it off!" I was able to snap a few photos and then the dress came off.
It's fun playing dress up with the girls. But I know that their wedding day will come way too fast. I have photos of Tiff in my wedding dress, and she was probably about the same age as the girls. And now look at her, boy crazy and in the 8th grade.
All 3 of my girls will make beautiful brides.
Enjoy our photo shoot! :-)

17 Years ago Today....

Bill & I became husband & wife. I feel old! Has it really been 17 years? Where have the years gone? Honestly I kept forgetting that our anniversary was coming up. This summer has been so busy and with Bill gone until last week, it was the last thing on my mind. Bill & I talk about the early years a lot. And what is sad, is we can't remember life before kids. We were married 3 1/2 years before Tiff came along. Life had to be easier. No real responsibilities. Some days we would love to go back to 1991, the year we got married. Other days, I'm so thankful that it's 2008. Our lives have gone on a path we did not expect. We never planned on moving out of St. Pete. And we did. We never planned on adopting. And we did, twice. We never thought about leaving the country, and we did. I'm about to turn 36 and Bill will be turning 40 in Dec. Some days I feel so old. Then I hear "40 is the new 30" and I like that. :-) Bill told me that when he was at camp, he felt like he was in his 20's again. And he loved it.
Who knows what else God has planned for us. I hope to have many, many more happy years with my dear hubby!
Bill I love you. I love that you have made my dreams come true. I love how you are always here for me. I love how you love our daughters. I love how you love me. Thank you for being an amazing husband & father. I love you! Happy Anniversary!
Love, Debbie
P.S. For anyone who is reading this, Sorry I don't have a wedding photo of us to put online. I looked and I do not have one scanned. We got married before digital camera's were invented (I think LOL). maybe one day I'll figure out how to scan our wedding photo and upload it.

The Olympics are Here!

We are so excited. The summer Olympics have officially begun. We are even more excited because they are in China. It's so hard to believe Bill was there 1 week ago. He sort of wishes he could have stayed. Especially seeing how the opening Ceremonies were last night. WOW! AMAZING! UNBELIEVABLE! Those were 3 words we kept saying all night. The show was awesome! I had tears in my eyes several times.
We drove down to Bills brothers house and had a fun dinner. Foods from different countries. The kids played and then it was time. Time for the show to begin. And what a show it was.
We left around 9:30 and headed home. Our girls spent the night with their cousins. They had a great time. They came home today around noon.
I couldn't help but think last night, was Billy watching the opening ceremony? How proud was he of his country? I wish I could know. Bill thinks that he was able to watch it. He said that there were TV's all over the place.
Here are a few photos from last night. We had fun. Now we're winding down the day. The girls are eating their dinner and getting ready for a bath.
I hope you enjoy watching the summer games! We will!

Debbie

Camp Video

Well, Bill is exhausted! He slept 4 hrs on Sunday and then was in bed by 10 PM Sunday night. Today though, he has spent mostly sleeping. He is not feeling 100%. I hope it's just exhaustion.
Yesterday we talked a lot about camp. He told me so many wonderful stories. And he showed me more videos that he took. They are great! I hope that he will put together a video DVD of his week at camp.
BMH did put together a little video clip of the week. It's great. Bill showed me last night and I cried. Today he received an email from David and there was a link to the video. So I thought I would upload it.
Enjoy the video. If you feel led to help out with Bring Me Hope, let me know and I will help get you connected. The kids had a wonderful week.
Enjoy the video!

BILL IS HOME-Finally!

It feels so good to write that Bill is home. It feels like he was gone forever. The last part of the week seemed to drag for me. Then came yesterday. We were so excited that this was THE day we would see him again. We cleaned & napped because his flight was coming in at 10:39 PM. The girls took a 3 hr nap. I was happy.
Bill called when he was in Newark. It was good to hear his voice. He said the flight was okay. He was able to sleep a lot.
Then it was time for him to leave for Tampa. I saw that the flight was delayed. We kept checking and it kept getting delayed. We had big plans for his homecoming. Bill said the ONE thing that he HAS to have is a pizza. So my brother was going to pick up a pizza for him and have it waiting at the airport. Bills brother Rick & his wife Jenn and their kids drove up from Sarasota to meet him at the airport. Bills mom & brother Mark & his daughter Grace were going to be there. Bill had no idea. So around 9 PM when we knew his flight was late about an hour, everyone came over and the kids ran around. I kept checking the flight. More delays. Then it said 12:55. That is when we said it's too late. Bill called and said "Can you see if Daniel can pick me up". He knew it was too late for us to come out. I'm so glad Daniel is here to take Bill to and from the airports. Bill called again and said that the plane now has a flat tire (the original delay was the plane was not in Newark yet). Well I think the last phone call I got was around 11:30 and Bill said they were changing planes.
At 4 AM this morning the door opened. It was Bill and Daniel. Tiff was sleeping on the couch so she could hear when he came home. She jumped up and hugged him hard. I jumped out of bed to give them hugs too. The girls slept through it all. Bill was exhausted. He had plans to go to church today. That isn't going to happen. He's still sleeping. He's exhausted.
I looked on Continentals website and it says that they were 4 hrs and 7 minutes late. He was scheduled to leave Newark at 7:20 PM but actually left at 12:10 AM. He was scheduled to land in Tampa at 10:39 PM but landed at 2:46 AM.
So that was his adventure last night, early this morning. His family is all at his mom's house. Bill has no idea they were all here. That is why I took this photo, so he could see we were all waiting for him to come home.
I can't wait for him to wake up and be refreshed so we can hear all about his week. We missed him so much. We are so proud of him. Thank you for your prayers.
Love, Debbie
P.S. Bill did not get his pizza last night. We might have to have that today for lunch. His mom did make his favorite dessert, chocolate chocolate cake. :-)

Family, Pedicures & Sunsets

The girls & I got away for the past 2 days. It felt good to get out of the house. My sister asked if I would want to go to my parents time share with her & her boys. I said yes. So we drove down Thursday morning and got home today around noon.
I don't know if my parents knew how much excitement was coming. They had had a few days of quiet & relaxation. All of that was about to change. It was pure chaos. Joyful chaos. :-) My girls are 13, 4 & 4. My sisters boys are 5 & 3. Lets just say everyone but Tiff is LOUD! But that's okay. They were having fun.
On Thursday when we got there we just chilled for a bit. Mom & Denise went to Publix for food. We made dinner which was really good. Then we went to the pool. The kids had a blast. We got back after 8:30 and we cleaned them up, put their PJ's on and then they had ice cream sandwiches. Usually my girls do not get ice cream that late, but hey,we were on vacation. :-) The girls were sleeping up in the loft. Tiff & I on the sofa bed. Well Abby would not go to sleep. Jade went to sleep fast. Abby took over an hour and then I had to sit up there and watch her go to sleep. Around 2:30 AM she & Jade were up and playing. I was not happy. So I climbed up there and had to sleep with them. It was after 3 before they went back to sleep. Then they were up by 6. I was so tired!
On Friday, we ate breakfast and tried to decide what to do. Denise wanted to go to the spa for a pedicure. So she, Tiff & I walked down and made a 1 PM appointment. We walked back to the room and then the kids ate lunch etc. We told them they needed to rest while we were gone. We left around 12:45 for the pedicure. Tiff was excited. They could only do 2 at a time so she & Denise went first. I'm glad they did. While they were getting their toes done, Bill called. I was really upset because the internet at the resort was down, so I had no communication with Bill. I asked Daniel to email him to let him know this. Well at 1:30 PM (1:30 AM his time) he called. He was tired. He said the day went well. They had to leave the camp at 7 AM to catch their flight to Beijing. He is on the flight now as I type. Only 1 1/2 hrs left until he lands in Newark.
Back to the pedicure...I came back and we told the ladies that our parents had our kids. I told them how we have 3 daughters and they said "Why didn't you bring the other 2?" I told them they were 4 yrs old. I said how they wanted to come and get their nails painted but I told them another time. They said "Bring them down, we'll paint their toes". So when I was getting my pedicure, Tiff ran down when there was a few minutes left. The girls were THRILLED! They did not charge me to paint their nails. Abby picked pink and Jade picked purple. It was an awesome experience. I loved seeing the smiles on their faces.
Well the pedicures took longer than expected, so we missed the 3 PM cruise. So we went back for naps. I think Denise, Dad & Dillon were the only ones who slept. Around 4:30 we started making dinner. We decided to do the sunset cruise. That was at 7:30.
At 7 PM we headed down. We took more silly photos and then got our tickets. The sunset is my favorite time of day. Especially when I'm at the beach or by water. It's just so beautiful. The night was awesome! There was a good breeze. I just loved the cruise. I'm so glad we did it. We were even able to see a few dolphins. Not too close because they were feeding, but we could see them. I took video of that.
After the cruise we headed back to the room to get cleaned up. Then off to bed. I slept with the girls in the loft tonight. Abby has a hard time settling down. Jade was out within 5 min again. They woke up again at 2:30. I don't know if they do this every night. I never hear them. They finally went back to sleep and woke up after 7. That was awesome!
This morning we ate breakfast and packed up to leave. We left at 10 (check out time) and got home at 11:30. The girls are now napping. I told them they HAD to take a nap if they wanted to go to the airport tonight. Bill lands in Tampa around 10:30 PM. We can't wait to see him.
I want to thank everyone for checking on us and for praying for Bill. It means so much to us. It looks like he had an amazing week. I don't know what the future holds for us. I have a feeling we'll be talking about adding to our family. I knew that would happen. And I'm okay with it. I'm ready for an adventure.
Enjoy the slideshows. I separated them into the 3 days (the 3rd one is just 1 photo). There are a lot of photos. You know me, I'm camera happy. I think I took 161 photos in 2 days. I promise, I did not put them all in the slide show.
Love, Debbie
