I love this photo

Tiff is in a singing group at church called Daughters of Christ. They have put this group together on their own. They practice on their own. And they ask the church if they can perform, on their own. We are so proud.

This particular Sunday was Youth Sunday. The youth led the church service. Tiffani was part of the Praise Band. She sang (of course). Tiffs friend took this photo of her singing on stage. I love it. I think it's precious. So I just had to share.

Summer Updates

Well, we are in the 4th week of Summer Vacation. The first 3 weeks were so busy. It's been nice not having anything to do this week. Unfortunately it has been raining all week. So we have cabin fever now. I'm so thankful for all the rain, because we need it badly. But we're ready to see a little sunshine now. :-)

Youth Camp was Great! Tiff had a blast. It showed, because she could not find the time to call home. I'm glad she had fun. She got closer to God, which is awesome. She got closer to some of the kids too. Friendships were formed, or they grew closer. She has a lot of memories from camp. I'm glad she went. Even though we missed her a lot. Here are some of the photos that she took during camp.

The week after camp was VBS. I taught the 4/5 yr olds with my good friend Billie. We had a good week. We had a good group of kids. Abby & Jadyn were with us, and at first I was concerned how they would act. They were very good, considering their mom was the teacher. The theme this year was Boomerang Express: It All Comes Back To Jesus. It was a lot of fun. And the songs are stuck in my head. Abby just loved the songs and really got into singing them during worship rally. Here are some photos from our week.

Last Saturday, my high school friend got married. I am so happy for her. It was a mini high school reunion at her wedding. I have not seen my friends in many years. It was good to catch up. Only Tiffani & I went. Bill stayed home with Abby & Jadyn. I'm so glad he did, because they would not have done well at the wedding. The wedding was beautiful and so was my friend. Here is a photo of the HS gang. :-)

It is now coming up on the 4th of July. We are taking a weekend getaway. We're going to Disney for the weekend. We were fortunate to find a hotel on property at the FL resident discount rate. This will be the last time we'll go using these annual passes.

As far as an adoption update, our dossier is in China. It was sent last Friday. Now we sit back and wait for a referral call. We don't know when we'll get the call. Could be this month, could be 6 months from now. We just do not know. We're okay with waiting. We know that God will bring us the perfect son for our family.

I hope you are enjoying your summer. We are having a lot of fun.

Until next time......

Youth Camp 2009

Sunday night, very late, the youth at our church left for youth camp. They were driving in a charter bus to TN. Tiff was so excited. She had such a great time last year and was looking forward to this year.

I have heard from Tiff once. She said they arrived around 4:30 PM and were exhausted. Once they got settled into their rooms, they took showers and got ready for evening worship. I asked her to call tonight around dinner time. We'll see if she does.

Here are 2 photos from Sunday night. Until next time.....

Tonight was the award night for AWANA's at church. This was the girls first year in AWANA's. They were in cubbies. Tonight, they earned a certificate and also a bear for completing their 1st book.

Abby was also asked to hold the bible for the pledges. She loved it.

Enjoy the photos.

Daughters of Christ

Last night, the youth at our church held a spaghetti dinner fundraiser for youth camp. During dinner, some of the youth performed for us. Tiffs group, Daughters of Christ was one of the groups performing. They sang an old hymn. My brother Daniel actually emailed me this song and said he thought Tiffs group would do great singing it. So they have been practicing and performed He Leadeth Me last night. They did great! They practiced all on their own. No adult help. They did great! We're so proud of the girls.

Enjoy the video.

Fasting Update

Last week our church did a church wide fast so we could all pray for healing for a precious woman in our church. She was diagnosed with cancer less than 2 months ago (I think). It was inoperable. It was everywhere. The doctors gave her 9 months with treatment, 6 months without. Our church said that Narda said that this is a win, win situation for her. If she survives the cancer, she will be here with her husband & son. If she dies, she will be reunited with their daughter Sophia, who passed away a few years ago at the tender age of 5.

Well last night at 6:05 PM, Narda was reunited with her precious daughter and her Heavenly Father.

Narda was in one of my bible study classes last year. She is a precious woman. Full of faith and hope and love.

She leaves behind her husband Wilson and their son Julian who is in kindergarten.

If you could please pray for them as they go through the grieving period. This family has gone through a lot in the past few years.

Thank you!
Debbie

A Busy Week

This past week has been very busy. This weekend especially. Thursday night we went to Tiffani's band concert. It was really good. I can't believe this will be the last holiday concert for Tiffani in middle school.

Saturday all 3 girls had to be at church at 8:45 AM for practice. They were all in the Children's Christmas Musical at church. So they rehearsed and then we prepared for Sunday. Sunday the youth choir sang in both services. Then we had our family over to celebrate Jadyn's 5th birthday. Then we all went to church to watch the performance. It was a lot of fun! Jadyn had a blast at her party. She loves seeing the family. She loved opening the gifts. This year, Jadyn made her own birthday cake. She wanted strawberry cake with strawberry frosting. It turned out really good. She also wanted a Tinker Bell theme. So we sprinkled green "pixie" sprinkles on her cake.

The choir performance was really good. The girls did a great job. Jadyn stood up there and sang this time. Usually she is very shy and does not like being up on stage. Abby on the other hand did everything she could to make sure she was noticed. It was funny. Tiffani was Mary in the play. Joseph was her friend Jacob. They looked cute up there. When the play was over, all of Tiffs friends (and me) ran up to the stage to get photos of Tiff & Jacob. I think they liked the attention. :-) Silly me though, only took 1 photo because I did not want to embarrass Tiffani, and Jacob's eyes were closed. Oh well. I'm sure I can find a good photo from the other's who were taking them.

It was a good night, and a good weekend. Now we're trying to finish up Christmas shopping. Bill turns 40 on Sunday, so we're thinking about how to make that special for him.

Here are 2 sets of slide shows. One is from Jadyn's birthday party and the other is from the Christmas Musical. Enjoy the photos.

Daughters of Christ

This is the name of the group Tiffani is in. She and her friends Stefanie and Ashley started the group themselves. They practice together and learn the songs all by themselves. This is the 2nd time I believe they have sung in the Sunday morning worship services at church. And both times, in both services, they received standing ovations. They were awesome! We hope that one day they will be famous. :-) Enjoy the song.....

Choir and "Iguanas"

I've been meaning to post this for a week. But I kept forgetting to get the girls to take a photo for me with their Cubbies vest on. So tonight, before church, I snapped the photo.

The girls started back in choir. They love choir and they Love Mrs. Becky. Last year they only did choir. Well this year we decided to let them stay for AWANA's. They are at church from 6-8:30 every Wed night. It's rough. Thursday's are hard. They are very tired.

Abby keeps telling everyone that she's going to "choir and iguanas". We keep saying "It's AWANA's" and she insists it's "Iguanas".

Then last week, when they were learning their verse, This is what both girls kept saying. "While we were in centers, Jesus died for us." Now, the verse should be "While we are sinners, Christ died for us". I just thought it was so cute that they thought it was "centers". (They go to centers at school-where they have dress up, Lego's, coloring etc.).

Tonight I took them to church and they put their things away and sat down for choir. I don't even think they said goodbye. They LOVE choir.
